Happy Spring!
Well friends, it's nice to finally be able to
wish everyone warm days filled with lots of sun and fun even though
everyone is sure to see a couple of more snow days. Make sure if you
are planning to wear flip flops for the day that you keep a pair of
snow boots handy just in case.
For those of you who are wrapped up in March
Madness, may the best team win. Sadly, I missed the deadline to turn
in a bracket so I don't find watching the games quite as exciting this
year. And honestly, when it comes to basketball, it's a miracle I even
know some of the Nuggets players. Thank goodness for charity bowling
events!
Spring also means MLS season (Major League
Soccer for all you non-sports buffs) and for Colorado that means the
outstanding Colorado Rapids and many fun weekends at Dick's Sporting
Goods Park. I must say I nearly fell out of my chair at Panera Bread
the other day when Rapids' star, #7, Jovan Kirovski, winner of last
year's Budweiser Golden Boot Award for leading the club in scoring with
6 goals in the season walked in. The Wright Group is one of the proud
sponsors of Dick's Sporting Goods Park so it was exciting to see one of
the players up close and personal. Check out more about the park in The
Wright Light.
I must say, despite all the carefree happy
thoughts that Spring brings I am slightly bitter. As my
yet-to-graduate friends are jetting off to Mexico and the Bahamas for
Spring Break, I am stuck contemplating the tanning bed. Perhaps I can
hitch a ride on the new Skyy Vodka tour bus Soapoint Graphics at the
Wright Group just wrapped. It does have a sky deck that would be ideal
for catching some rays.... Make sure to read all about this amazing bus
in The Wright Stuff. Or even better I can plan my very own
"Spring Break" through our the new addition to our company: Wright
Group Travel. Check out next month's issue for more information on
this exciting addition to our company. For now though, check it out by
going to the quick links block and clicking on Wright Group Travel.
And now, I am off for a cold Pina Colada!
Cheers,
Courtney

The Wright Stuff
Soapoint Graphics & The Skyy Vodka Tour
Bus
Soapoint Graphics at The Wright Group is excited
to announce the completion of one of their newest projects, a fully
loaded promotional wrap for Sky Vodka on our very own double- decker
luxury commercial motor coach known as The Skydeck.* The
wrap was done in anticipation of Skyy Volka's two month, nationwide
promotional tour of the new Skyy Vodka all natural fruit infused vodka,
Skyy Infusions. The bus rocks Soapoint style through and through!
This project entailed a multi-faceted Solvent
ink jet 3M premium glossy vinyl install, covering the bus from top to
bottom, end to end as well as some customized promotional vinyl on the
inside. The wrap completely captures the product's bright, fun
character, and all natural taste.
I spent a few minutes talking with Soapoint
Graphics' head designer, Mike Hornbeck, who saw the project through
from start to finish.
Mike, was this project a challenge
unlike any Soapoint had tackled before?
"No. We were definitely excited by the
challenge of the project because it involved so many details, but we
are accustomed to doing large, high profile, national projects such as
this. Vehicle wraps are some of the most involved projects but are one
of our specialties. We are in the process of wrapping a few trucks for
Fast Cash Pawn and Jewelry which Roman, Soapoint's digital
specialist, helped to custom design and we just wrapped a golf cart for
Solorider Management, a handicap golf cart service."
So you are accustomed to doing
projects outside of Colorado?
"Yes. We just recently did some work for
the Oriole's in Baltimore at their stadium, as well as for the
Washington Nationals at their new stadium. It's fun to see our work
all over the place. We really enjoy the variety."
I bet. Getting back to the bus for
a bit. It's huge. How long does it take to pull off something like
this? If I am not mistaken you guys had a pretty tight turn around
time, right?
"Yeah, we had about two weeks from the start
of the project, getting all the files together, etc., to when it needed
to be complete. Luckily, I have some really skilled and dedicated guys
on my team who know what it takes to get something done and done
right. With the appropriate set up, streamlined print production, and
time management this kind of job flows along easily. Just to put
things in perspective though, with this kind of job you are looking at
30 hours to just to download the size files needed for this project.
There are some major man hours and late nights involved but it is what
we are all pumped about coming to work for everyday."
Cool. To wrap things up, what is it
like to see the bus complete? How closely did you work alongside the
client, Pierce Promotions?
"It definitely felt good pulling into the
parking lot with the job complete and have everyone come out and
congratulate us. Everyone was really excited. You know, we are still
new to The Wright Group, so I don't think anyone really knew we were
capable of doing a project of this size. We do it a lot though. My
guys work hard and I am proud of what we are able to do. Working with
Pierce Promotions made the project even better as we were able to
develop a partnership with them which is what we prefer to do. We want
our clients to be excited and involved throughout the process. They had
an amazing vision and I am glad that the end result was able to really
demonstrate that."
Awesome. Thanks so much. We can't
wait to see more from you guys!
"Yeah, for sure. Much more good stuff to
come. We'd love to talk to anyone about an idea. Give us a call."
___________
As you can see Soapoint is a huge part of The
Wright Group. Their expertise, passion and knowledge is nearly
limitless and they are always excited to try out new ideas, learn new
things and explore unconventional possibilities. To speak to Mike,
Roman, Jodi, or Justin about your next project, call them at
303-399-9957. There is practically nothing they won't do.

The Adventures of
Tommy Tent
A Bit O' The Irish Luck
It was St.Patrick's Day as Tommy
Tent rolled back his sidewall* sheets and stretched his
mighty arms towards the ceiling as he peered down at his chartreuse
unitard he had put on in honor of one of his favorite holidays. Still
feeling a bit green from last night's festivities Tommy Tent shuffled
into the kitchen for a hearty bowl* of Lucky Charms and a cup*
of green tea.
After breakfastTommy Tent was
feeling a bit more himself and decided to head down to visit his
friends at Fado Irish Pub, the biggest Irish celebration in town. He
velcroed on his cape with the customized lucky four leaf clover
graphics,* adjusted his green and white striped socks and topped
it off this his Soapoint graphics*customized , 'Kiss me, I'm
Irish' hat. Tommy Tent was ready to do the deals and off he
went. Zing! Zing! Zing!
After meeting up with the rest of
his crew and enjoying a couple of Jagerbombs and some green beer, TT
dove into a huge bowl*of Guinness ice cream. Just then a
loud shriek came from amidst the massive crowd causing TT to spring to
his feet! At first he could see nothing as people were running in all
different direction. But then in the middle of the courtyard, a dark
and looming figure could be seen! It was Captain Chaos and his evil
laugh! MuuuhahaahMuuuhahahaah!
Tommy Tent and the crowd watched
in dismay as Captain Chaos zoomed around on his Monster Trike* causing
all sorts of ruckus. In just five minutes he had ripped down banner*
after banner*, untapped all the beer kegs,* tore
down most of the fencing,* smashed all the sound
equipment* and knocked over the water barrels* that were
stabilizing the tents.* Now they were all dangerously
swaying with the strong Colorado winds.
Captain Chaos shouted with a
menacing look, "You thought I was done for Tommy Tent! But I'm not.
What are you going to do now?'' MuuhahaahMuuuhahahaah!
The scene was a mess. It would
seem no one could stop Captain Chaos. Tommy Tent knew what he had to
do. He quickly hopped over a nearby barricade* and looked
out across the panicked crowd. With his voice carried by the wind he
bellowed, "Never fear! Tommy Tent is here! I will save you from this
scoundrel!"
In one sailing move TT leapt off
the railing, grabbed a felled banner*, yanked the unexpected
Captain Chaos off the monster trike*, tied him up and threw
him in the nearby Cash Cube* where he couldn't escape and
cause more trouble.
Tommy Tent was soon zinging
around in full fury putting up customized Soapoint Graphic banners of
all shapes and sizes*, foot after foot of green super fence*, park
benches* for the tired crowd to rest,a 15 x 15 bouncing
castle* and endless carnival games* to keep the kids
occupied.
He then wheeled out keg-er-rators*
to chill the warming beer, cotton candy* and popcorn
makers* and an ice cream cart* to keep the coveted
Guinness ice cream from melting into one big mess. The crowd was on
their feet now dancing and clapping as Tommy Tent plugged in his state
of the art Karaoke Machine* and began to belt out the opening
verses of Madonna's "Like a Virgin"* to entertain the crowd until the
massive PA speakers* were working once again.
Finally, the speakers* roared
to life with Irish music drowning out the final strains of Tommy Tents
raucous Karaoke performance. The party came to life and once again it
would seem that Tommy Tent had saved the day! Now, it was time to deal
with the menacing Captain Chaos. Tommy Tent turned towards the Cash
Cube* only to discover he had escaped....Da Da Duuuuun!
(tune in next month to find out
what happened to Captain Chaos)
